@melissaca
Welcome to MLCA Creations! I’m Melissa, a Mi'kmaq artist, vintage curator, and the heart behind the shop. I believe that beautiful things deserve a second life, and I have a deep passion for breathing new life into forgotten treasures. Through my handcrafted wearable art, I specialize in upcycling vintage jewelry—transforming salvaged stones, shells, and single earrings into one-of-a-kind, hand-stitched statement pieces. My work is deeply rooted in my heritage, sustainable artistry, and Indigenous beadwork techniques. When I’m not beading in my studio, I am hunting for incredible vintage jewelry and collectibles to curate for my shop. I am an avid researcher, fascinated by the history and stories old items hold—especially when it comes to identifying intricate hallmarks, vintage silver, and artisan maker's marks. I’m so thrilled to share my creations and vintage discoveries with the Niche Shopping Network community here on District. Take a look around, and I hope you find a piece of art or history that speaks to you! Thank you! Wela'lin!
